Whose Country am I on?
Mainland Australia is comprised of over 250 Aboriginal nations each with their own language, culture, customs and communities.
Do you know whose Country you work, live and play on? You can view and order your own map of Indigenous Australia from the AIATSIS website and learn more about different Aboriginal nations across the country.
Acknowledgement
Convo Australia would like to thank to Rodney Adams for his support with making this possible, by coordinating with the Deaf Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders community to share their stories for NAIDOC Week 2022.
We would also like to thank Rodney Adams, Daniel Bachi, Mandy Smith and the members of the Deaf Indigenous Dance Group (Sue Frank, Leslie Footscray, Clifford Johnson, Nathaniel Murray-Fourmile, Shardrach Sales-Gramham, Floyd Villaflor and Aviu Ware) for taking the time to share their story for NAIDOC Week 2022. By sharing your stories, you help other Deaf First Nations peoples and non-Indigenous people all over in Australia and overseas learn and appreciate more about the longest living cultures in the world.
All First Nations peoples involved with this project have been compensated for their time or chose to donate their compensation to other First Nations initiatives of their choosing.
Please contact us on gday@convoaustralia.com if you would like more information about this page, or if you would like to participate in future initiatives like this one. We would love to have your input!
